PRIMACOUSTIC LONDON SIXTEEN – A PERFECT FIT

The television video studio at Prince Alfred College is utilised primarily for green screen filming, college community videos, headmaster announcements and Prince’s TV distribution filming.

Integrated Audio Solutions had previously completed the colleges two music rooms and so when Dan Woolford AV Technician was looking for an acoustic treatment solution the discussions were based around an existing knowledge of what would work in this unique environment.

Dan’s brief was direct and to the point – ‘deaden’ the room “without taking the life out of it”.

To meet the brief the London 16 Room Kit was chosen as the perfect fit for purpose. The kit solution is carefully designed to address some primary and common acoustical concerns by combining various components such as wall panels, bass traps, diffusion and hardware into an easy- to-use format.

The London 16 Room Kit panels are made from high-density 6lb per cubic foot (96 kg/m³) fibreglass and fire rated to Australian Standards, offering nearly five times greater absorption than typical low cost foam alternatives. This means that you get more absorption with less panels, while assuring an even absorption curve throughout the frequency range.

The result
Integrated Audio Solution’s use of the London 16 Room Kit provides Prince Alfred College with a balanced comfortable acoustic space with the right amount of absorption, soft diffusing and bass control via ceiling traps. The space is now capable of recording coherent voice over, oral presentations and small performance recordings.
